Online Textiles Club - Standard Ticket
This online creative health session is for parents who want to create a calm, creative space.
Meets on the first Monday of each month, 7–8.30 pm
Location: Online via Google Meet
Each month, we work with felt, fabric and simple embroidery/sewing techniques to create a seasonal piece.
For each session, you’ll need a basic kit, which should include:
coloured felt
small fabric pieces (optional)
needles
pins
fabric scissors
a pencil
paper
This session is suitable for complete beginners and sewing enthusiasts. Each month includes a short demonstration of a “stitch of the month” with clear guidance for those new to sewing or looking for a gentle refresher.
We begin with a gentle visualisation and breath work to help you arrive in your body, set aside family responsibilities for a while, and prioritise yourself. From there, you’ll be guided to connect with the season and create whatever feels right for you in a peaceful, supportive space.
After each session, you’ll be invited to fill in a very short (2-minute) questionnaire. This helps us gather data to evidence the impact creative health has for SEN parents. We’ll encourage you to complete it before the session finishes, as we know that once it’s out of sight, it’s often out of mind!
Our work comes together in an annual, co-designed exhibition showcasing four seasonal tapestries – a celebration of taking time to show up just as you are, create, and share amongst peers.
Cost per session:
£5 per session
Pay it forward option if you’d like to support someone else to attend
Redeem a paid-for place if cost is a barrier
Access and alternatives to textiles
We know that textiles aren’t for everyone, especially if you have dexterity limitations or prefer other materials. You are very welcome to join us with paper, pens, or whatever you feel comfortable creating with. We will work whatever you create in our time together into our annual exhibition.
Downloadable file
When you purchase your ticket, you’ll receive a downloadable file containing the Google Meet link and log-on details for the session. Please keep this somewhere safe so you can access it on the day.
If you’d like to join or have any questions, please get in touch – you’re very welcome exactly as you are.
